GIFT OF SIGHT CLINICAL RESEARCH AWARD

Conducting and presenting research is an integral part of training. Promoted by the University of Southampton Vision Sciences Research group, this prize will be awarded for the best clinical research submitted to Gift of Sight in the year of the award – to be awarded at the annual Registrar’s audit day. The prize is to be used to facilitate attendance at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) annual meeting or equivalent international meeting to present the research.

Eligibility
These awards are open to Clinical Trainee Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists, Vision Scientists and Allied Health Professionals who are in training or working in an NHS Acute Trust within the Wessex Deanery that delivers eye care services.

Closing date for submissions is 5pm on 27th November 2020.

POSTGRADUATE OPHTHALMOLOGY TEACHING AWARD

A Wessex Excellence in Postgraduate Ophthalmology Teaching Award will be awarded annually to the individual deemed to have provided the best teaching that year. This will be judged by the Wessex Regional Ophthalmology Teaching Group, and will be based on trainee nominations and feedback scores received.

Nominations for the teaching award will need to be received by:

  • 1st of August 2020 for the 2019/2020 Award

  • 1st of August 2021 for the 2020/2021 Award
